As a leading provider of outdoor education, you can be reassured that our Safety Management System is of the highest possible standards.

The benefits of outdoor education are well known and it is widely considered to be an excellent way to aid the development of young people. We aim to reduce risk to the lowest reasonable level and whilst this cannot be eliminated entirely, the safety of students and staff is of paramount importance to us. A full Health and Safety pack will be sent to you upon booking, and you may request to see our policies, procedures and risk assessments at any time. Our Safety Management System consists of five main components:


As an organisation that works with young people we are inspected and members of a number of governing bodies, which include:

BAPA (British Activity Provider Association).
BAPA sets the standard for Quality, Safety and Value for activity centres and residential and day camp providers.

The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom
(LOtC) is the national voice for learning outside the classroom. This organisation ensures that the quality of our outdoor education provision meets their stringent standards. Our certificates are available to download below and will also be sent to you upon booking.

Adventuremark  is a non-statutory safety scheme devised by the Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee (AAIAC) for providers of adventurous activities that are outside the scope of the Adventure Activity Licensing regulations.

We are committed to the following employment and training practices:

  • Employment and assignment of competent staff with the right skills, qualifications, training and character to work with students. This is specific to each course type.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service checks (previously Criminal Records Bureau checks) for all staff.
  • Referencing off all staff
  • In-house training courses for all staff
  • External training of staff to national levels
  • All camp leaders have current first aid training that is specific to the outdoors
  • Ratios of staff to student are specific to the activity
  • Regular monitoring of staff
  • External expertise and advice from our retained H&S expert, a Medical Adviser and other Technical Advisers
  • Full time Safeguarding officer



We are committed to providing the following
standards of care:

  • All activity equipment is inspected and used for its intended purpose
  • Food is procured from reputable sources and stored safely
  • Food hygiene is controlled by trained staff. Our kitchens are inspected by the food hygiene agency, currently giving us a rating of 4*
  • Comprehensive first aid kits and emergency medical kits, designed by our Medical Adviser, are nearby on all courses
  • Our comprehensive insurance policy (10 million public liability) ensures that groups are fully covered for the duration of our courses
